Production Units Available
Direct Fired Production Units
In the DF unit, the wellstream heating coil and firebox are installed in the vessel body. The firebox heats both the liquids to be separated (to aid separation) and the wellstream coil prior to pressure reduction to reduce hydrate formation.
A wide range of coil pressure ratings are available, as well as your choice of chokes, pressure control valves and controllers. The unit can also be furnished with an inlet gas dome or outlet gas dome. In addition, the units can be configured to meet most production requirements or customer preference including operating pressures down to partial vacuum when fitted with an optional blowcase pump.
LPUD Production Units
The standard water bath assembly with firebox and heating coil preheats the wellstream prior to pressure regulation, eliminating hydrate formation and the resulting wellstream is routed to the inlet of the separator.
The LPUD unit features a vertical inlet section with a tangential inlet which, combined with our special inlet assembly internals, creates a strong centrifugal action which quickly separates the gas from the inlet stream. Free liquids are introduced into the horizontal settling section in a controlled manner, minimizing mixing of water and oil.

In addition, the units can be configured to meet almost any production requirement or customer preference including operation pressures down to partial vacuum when fitted with an optional blowcase pump.
Two-Stage Production Units
This unit is designed for wells that:
- Have relatively high shut-in pressure
- Have moderate gas volume
- Have moderate liquids volume
- Have moderately difficult liquids separation
- Produce into a high pressure gas sales line
The high-pressure separator can be either vertical or horizontal, with the liquid section immersed in the low-pressure separator-treater. This combines the advantage of an inlet separator that efficiently separates the gas phase from total liquids, and long residence time for clean separation of the oil and water phases in the low pressure separator. Gas is routed from the high pressure separator to a pipeline and the oil and water mix is dumped to the low pressure side for further separation. The firebox then does double duty: heating the coil, and providing heat to facilitate oil/water separation.
A wide variety of options can be incorporated into the design.
Coils are typically rated for 3000 psig with many combinations of choke and pressure control available. All PESCO equipment is designed and fabricated to meet and exceed our customer’s specifications.
Waterbath Production Units
WBPU’s are designed primarily for high pressure service where wellstream pressures range up to 10,000 psi. Inlet pressure control is usually accomplished by a “hi-low” valve in conjunction with a heater choke. A typical water bath assembly with firebox and heating coil preheats the wellstream prior to pressure regulation. Hydrate formation is eliminated and the wellstream is routed to the inlet of the separator.
Coil pressure ratings are available from 3000 psi to 10,000 psi as well as many combinations of chokes, pressure control valves and controllers. WBPU units can be configured to meet almost any production requirement or customer preference.
